Children of Uganda Dance and Sing Their Way Through Washington, D.C.

2012 Tour of Light to Showcase East African Culture While Raising Money for AIDS Orphans, Education

The Children of Uganda (COU) dance troupe has captured hearts across the nation with many successful tours since 1996.  As a continuation of this success, the 2012 Tour of Light will make a stop at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage on Saturday, January 28 to share the rich culture of Uganda through rapid rhythms, quicksilver movements, commanding drums, haunting flutes, funny folktales and sweet songs of joy and hope.  The music and dance troupe has performed on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Sharon Osbourne Show,” at the White House, the 2003 Grammy Week’s MusiCares benefit honoring U2’s Bono and more.
