Kilpatrick Townsend’s Daniel Marti Recognized by Diversity & the Bar as a Legal Industry Rising Star

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Daniel Marti, a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C.  office, was selected by Diversity & the Bar as one of the legal industry’s Rising Stars. Only four Rising Stars were selected from across the country.

Diversity & the Bar is the flagship publication of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. The magazine examines issues relating to diversity in the legal profession in order to advocate for inclusiveness in the practice of law.

Mr. Marti chairs Kilpatrick Townsend’s diversity council. He concentrates his practice on the protection, management, and enforcement of intellectual property assets in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Marti has represented clients in a wide range of cases involving false advertising, unfair competition, trade secrets, cyber- squatting, and computer fraud before various U.S. federal courts as well as the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). He works with some of the best-known brands, including adidas, American Eagle Outfitters, Butterball, Costco, Hard Rock Café, Furniture Brands and Marriott.

Mr. Marti believes that experienced attorneys must make an investment in the next generation to foster a diverse and competitive legal workforce. Younger lawyers need “sponsors,” Marti says. “A sponsor is a seasoned lawyer who will put some skin in the game,” says Marti. “It’s someone who will invest their credibility and reputation—or professional capital, if you will— into advancing a younger lawyer’s development and progress.”
