Please let us know if you can help.
Copper is a 60 lb red and white hound dog who is about 2 years old. He was adopted from our rescue about a month ago and escaped through an open gate at his adopter's house on Thursday morning, 3 April. We have been pounding the pavement since then to get the word out make sure everyone knows to be on the lookout for him!
Copper is very friendly but thinks it is a game to be chased so likely won't easily be caught. He was across the river in River Terrace Park, then Anacostia Park until today, when he was spotted several times on Capitol Hill.
He was spotted today at:
- 15th and Independence NE, running west on Independence toward Lincoln park (0630)
- S. Carolina Ave. SE, between 13th and Kentucky; ran to the east, down South Carolina (in the direction of 14th street) (0930)
- in the alley behind D St, between 15th and 17th St, running in the alley toward 18th st (0945)
- Benning Rd and Maryland Ave NE- 14th and H Sts, NE
