PS Charities’ Caribbean Casino Night Helps Cancer Patients Defray Costs of Getting Well
PS Charities will host its Fourth Annual Caribbean Casino Night & Silent Auction on October 20, benefitting George
Washington University’s MFA Breast Care Center and the Katzen Cancer Center.
Started by LuAnn Dean, the mission of PS Charities was shaped by LuAnn and her family’s military background as well as her own experience with breast cancer. LuAnn, the president of ProSol, an Alexandria-based defense contracting firm. LuAnn and her husband Michael—a retired Marine officer—have a deep commitment to giving back. That’s why PS Charities has a dual mission of helping military families and patients in the fight against cancer.
The Casino Night benefits GW, in recognition of the excellent care she received there. All proceeds will be used to provide short-term financial assistance to help individuals and their families meet the unexpected costs incurred as they go through treatment.
PS means “extra” or “in addition”—which is fitting since PS Charities donates funds to help defray the costs incurred by patients and their families that are not covered by insurance—such as parking, transportation, deductibles, drugs, and childcare.
The event takes place from 7-11pm at GWU’s City View Room located at 1957 E St, NW DC. Tickets cost $80 and can be purchased at www.pscharities.org. Sponsorships are also available.
