Join Rock Creek Conservancy and the National Park Service to celebrate the MLK Day of Service by cutting English Ivy from the trees and removing much needed trash in Rock Creek Park. Bring your friends and family or just come out yourself! We'll provide tools, gloves and training.
There will be 4 events being held on Saturday, January 19th in different sections of Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. Event sites and time:
Soapstone Valley Site: 9:00 am- 12:00 pm, Invasive English Ivy Removal
*** We will be having a special guest come and participate at Soapstone Valley!
Normanstone Site: 9:00 am- 12:00 pm, Invasive English Ivy Removal
Little Forest Site: 10:00 am- 12:00 pm, Invasive Periwinkle Pull (little-kid friendly)
Piney Branch Site: 9:00 am- 12:00 pm, Trash Cleanup

Please dress for the weather by wearing long pants and long sleeve shirts. Dressing in layers is the best option. If you have gloves, hand clippers, or loppers, feel free to bring them.
Participants must be 16+ to use tools. Younger volunteers are welcome and can pick up trash and pull small vines by hand. Students can earn SSL hours.
