Business as Usual After Light Winter Dusting
School, businesses and government are open Wednesday after a lighter than initially anticipated storm.
The winter storm that hit the south hard in the earlier part of the week moved north through the D.C. region Tuesday leaving slight accumulations of snow and ice. The National Weather Service canceled the Winter Weather Advisory by 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Wednesday the federal government was operating on a normal open schedule with all employees expected to report as usual.
District government agencies and D.C. Public Schools are both open. Students and employees should report at their normal time.
The weather today is expected to be cold and windy with gusts up to 31 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.
