Drivers should expect delays and anticipate lane closures Jan. 28- Jan. 29 along segments of Canal Road as the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) resurfaces the road. Impacted areas are along Canal Road from Fox Hall Road to Arizona Avenue.

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

According to a news release there will be flag persons and variable message boards to alert drivers:

There will be two flag persons who will alternatively shut down one lane in each direction for a few minutes at a time. The construction zone will be about 50 to 100 feet long and this construction zone will keep moving from one place to another stopping at one location for about 30 minutes to 60 minutes.
