The Czech and Slovak restaurant and bar is located at 3277 M St. NW.

Capitol Prague, a Czech and Slovak restaurant and bar, opened its cafe over the weekend in Georgetown. The restaurant portion will open in the next couple of weeks.

"Come to get an amazing ILLY coffee, croissants, house-made strudel and much more," Capitol Prague wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page Saturday.

The new cafe and restaurant take over the former Morso space at 3277 M St. NW.

Since opening Saturday, their house-made strudel has been "selling like hot cakes," according to owner Petra Foist.

The cafe will operate Monday through Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Foist said they are still "tinkering" with recipes and making their menu for the restaurant.

"Slowly and gradually, it's coming along," she said.

The restaurant could open by May 30 or June 1, maybe sooner. The hours of operation are still being finalized.
