The D.C. Farm to School Network could benefit from your burrito dinner Wednesday night, if you dine at local Chipotle restaurants between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Proceeds will help support the D.C. Farm to School week coming up in October.
The network brings healthy food options and education on nutrition to local schools. According to the D.C. Farm to School Network website, the organization is made up of hundreds of stakeholders, like teachers, parents, farmers and more.
Wednesday, 50 percent of all sales at all Washington, D.C.-area Chipotle restaurants will be donated to the D.C. Farm to School Network at Arcadia. There is a Chipotle on M Street in Georgetown and on Wisconsin Avenue in Glover Park.
In an email on the network's listserv, organizers wrote:
We're excited to work with Chipotle because they are genuinely excited about our programs to connect youth with where food comes from, and they show similar organizational support for growing the local, sustainable food economy.
Chipotle has named its event tomorrow "Cause an Effect."
