DMV Will Return to Georgetown

The Georgetown Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will return to the once renovations are complete. The Georgetown DMV branch closed May 19 to allow for mall repairs, .

Councilman Jack Evans (D-Ward 2) announced that the DMV would return to Georgetown Park during the Citizens Association of Georgetown annual meeting Wednesday. Evans said that Mayor Vincent Gray "has been very supportive" of continuing the DMV operation in Georgetown.

Gray said he was "glad" the DMV "will be maintained here in Georgetown."

He touted the DMV's return as an example of his role as a "customer service" provider.

The DMV will open a temporary service center at 301 C St., NW, beginning June 4. The temporary center will be co-located with Adjudication Services and will operate under the same hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.
