Residents of Glover Park, Burleith and Georgetown who frequent the 6,400-square-foot, ad hoc dog park at Guy Mason Recreation Center want to register it as an official Department of Parks and Recreation dog park.
An application signed by 62 park patrons and members of the Dogs of Guy Mason Alliance (DOGMA) would formally register the dog park next to the baseball field at Guy Mason. DOGMA formed to advocate for the dog park at 3600 Calvert St. NW.
Their application indicates that they would like the park size, location and materials (wood chips) to remain the same.
DPR will accept comments on the application through July 9. You can submit them online or in the mail. Comments post-marked after July 9 will not be considered.
The written comments must include the person’s name, telephone number, affiliation, if any, mailing address and statement outlining the issues in dispute or support surrounding the implementation of a dog park.
