Drew Barrymore Comes to Georgetown for 'Big Miracle' Premiere

The AMC Loew's Georgetown and the Sequoia will play host to the actress and an invitation-only guest list.

Georgetown will play host to an invitation-only red carpet event Wednesday, Jan. 25 as Drew Barrymore and other cast and crew members of the new film "Big Miracle" descend on the Georgetown AMC Loew's for a special screening, followed by a private party at the Sequoia.

The film is about an Alaskan town's efforts to save a family of gray whales that become trapped by the ice forming around the Arctic Circle.

The red carpet appearances begin at 6 p.m. at the K Street movie theater, followed by a 7 p.m. screening and a 9 p.m. private party with the cast. According to the invitation, invited guests are encouraged to wear "Alaska casual" to both events.

The Gala Special Screening of Universal Pictures' and Working Title's "Big Miracle" will benefit the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), a non-profit that provides assistance to anyone who has lost of a military loved one, regardless of their relationship to the individual.

According to WUSA9, the menu features Alaskan salmon, flown in over night from the source.  Chefs Robert Wiedmaier and Kevin Adams will prepare "Salmon Rillettes on Baguette and Cured Alaskan Salmon with Asian Spices and a Citrus Emulsion that will highlight the delicate flavor of the sockeye salmon," reports WUSA9
