Dusting of Snow Likely in Georgetown by Friday Morning

A very small amount of snow may accumulate Thursday night and Friday morning across DC.

Weather forecasters are predicting snow will start falling after midnight with accumulations up to an inch possible in Georgetown, according to the National Weather Service—a huge change from Wednesday, when the high temperature at Dulles International Airport was 72 degrees.

Thursday night’s low temperature will be around 31 degrees, and high temperatures Friday will not be higher than 35 degrees.

Because this snow is driven by a “clipper” system, it is very unlikely our area will get more than a dusting.

In the event school is delayed tomorrow morning while DC crews treat city roads, that information will be posted on Patch early Friday morning and on these other resources.

Looking ahead, the National Weather Service also predicts “light snowfall accumulations are possible across the area Saturday night through Sunday.”

Before you head out Friday morning, check these tips on driving safely in snow and other slippery winter conditions.
