Peabody Room Librarian Jerry McCoy Solves a Mystery
Through online research McCoy discovers the indentity of an unknown soldier featured in a watercolor housed at the library, "Cavalry Officer at Pleasant Valley, Maryland October 24, 1862." The "graphite and opaque watercolor on paper" was done by Johannes Adams Oertel. Read about McCoy's sleuthing here.
Nike Opened its Flagship D.C. area store on M Street Thursday
Patch was there to catch local legend former Hoyas Mens Basketbal Coach John Thompson, Jr. cut the ribbon to officially open the Nike Georgetown store. Photo gallery and story here.
