Fiola Mare Restaurant Concept Up for Review

Fabio Trabocchi of Fiola hopes to open a restaurant at the Washington Harbour.

Fabio Trabocchi's plan to open a restaurant at the Washington Harbour — called Fiola Mare — will have its first public review at next week's Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC).

Trabocchi opened Fiola downtown in April 2011. It's been named one of America's "Best New Restaurants" 2012 by Bon Appetit and a 2012 RAMMY award winner for "Best New Restaurant."

Fiola Mare, his second DC restaurant, is on the ANC agenda for concept review of "alterations, enclosure at terrace and sign scheme."

The Georgetown location would feature a seafood menu, according to Eater DC.

Eater reported in October that "Trabocchi has hired Georgetown architecture firm HapstakDemetriou to design the restaurant, and is already busy testing seafood recipes for the new spot over at Fiola."

The Georgetown ANC will meet at Georgetown University's Leavey Center in the Leavey Program Room at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3. This is a change from the usual location at Georgetown Visitation.
