It is only mid-February and the cold weather will return despite recent mild temps, take advantage of these local winter deals.

Everyone likes and needs a bargain these days. Check out our weekly Georgetown deals and tell us what we have missed!

This week Feb. 16-Feb. 23 we found items to help protect us from the cold that lingers out there, waiting to pounce.

Alessi

We looked in Alessi in Cady's Alley for a teapot to keep us cozy and found a deal instead. Alessi is having an end-of-season sale from Feb. 12-28. Look at the table near the door for floor models and discontinued, overstock or slighty damaged items available for up to 70 percent off. Hurry before everything is gone.

North Face, Patagonia and City Sports

It  is not too late to look for a warm winter coat, fleece or down jacket and all three stores are having great sales with a good selection. North Face on M Street is selling men's, women's and kids' ski wear and outerwear for 25 to 30 percent off. There are even some shoes, socks and workout clothes on sale. Selection in sizes and colors is good right now but do not wait.

Across M Street at City Sports more outerwear is on sale plus a selection of winter boots like Sorel as well as running shoes by Nike and Asics.  Discounts are up to 50% off.

Finally, Patagonia has men's, women's and children's coats and jackets on sale for up to 30 percent off. They also have a men's capilene boxers which are rarely on sale and some hats and gloves.

If all this shopping in the cold has made you hungry, head to Clydes on M Street for "Cowboy Steak" special. Diners can order a 16-18 ounce on-the-bone ribeye steak dinner with potatos and veggies for $18.95.

And don't forget that all espresso drinks at Marvelous Market are half-price on Mondays. That should help you battle the cold.
