Fulbright Scholars Get to Work in Rock Creek Park

A team of Fulbright scholars will help clean a section of Rock Creek Park in Georgetown today.

If you walk or drive along Rock Creek Park this morning, you might see an unusual crew of people picking up trash along the road side. A group of 28 Fulbright foreign students will pitch-in to help improve Rock Creek Park near Georgetown for a few hours Friday morning.

The students are part of a larger group of first-year Fulbright scholars participating in the U.S. Department of State's summit, “Greening of the Planet: Global Challenges, Local Solutions.”

Putting their seminar hours in action, students will join organizers from Friends of Rock Creek’s Environment (FORCE) to clear trash and debris from the area around Rock Creek between P Street to Pennsylvania Avenue.
