Georgetown Cupcake Evacuated Over Suspicious Odor

No one was injured or transported to the hospital, according to DC Fire and EMS.

Georgetown Cupcake was evacuated Monday morning around 11 a.m. after staff noticed an unusual odor.

DC Fire and EMS eventually determined that the smell was not coming from within the store, but rather from a nearby manhole that had exploded earlier in the day, according to FEMS Battalion Chief Brian Lee.

No one was transported to the hospital and the shop was given the all clear to re-open, according to Lee.
