Georgetown Inn Celebrates 50 Years, New Ownership
Nayan Patel took over ownership of the Georgetown Inn in November 2011
The Georgetown Inn, 1310 Wisconsin Ave. NW, celebrated 50 years in the neighborhood with a cocktail party Wednesday evening. In November Nayan Patel of Your DC Hotels took over ownership of the boutique hotel, paying a reported $34 million for it.
American Mortgage Investment Company president Sheldon Magazine opened the Georgetown Inn opened 1962. The Daily Grill restaurant sit at street level, serving guests and non-guests alike.
Patel has plans to renovate the 96-room boutique hotel over the next several years.
According to a press release about the hotel, it has served a range of guests to include notables like "the Mercury Seven (the seven original astronauts), artist Andy Warhol, actors Robert Stack and George Burns, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and political luminaries like the Kennedy family."
