“It’s sort of a way for the store to be showcased,” Miyahira explained.

While the expo will affect traffic near Washington Harbour and on Thomas Jefferson Street up to the Nike store, organizers expect it will have little impact on M Street, said Stella.

Security will be increased for the Expo and Race, in light of the recent Boston Marathon attack, but events will proceed as normal. Stella was unable to provide specifics on how security will be increased.
