1. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day Baked and Wired Style

Where/When: Baked and Wired (1052 Thomas Jefferson St. NW) Friday, March 16 from 6:59 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Why Go: Readers' Choice Winner Baked and Wired continues its tradition of offering free 5 oz flights of Guinness for those who don't mind a morning brew and starting the party a day early. Throughout the weekend they will be offering "car bomb" cupcakes, clover shaped rice krispie treats and more.

Pricing: Free beer with other purchase.

2. BLOSSOM DC

Where/When: Old Print Gallery (1220 31st Street, NW), Opening Reception is Friday, March 16 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m

Why Go: The show features prints from local artists as well as NY-based artists. According to the event website, it was "inspired by the 100 year anniversary of the gift of cherry trees from Japan to Washington, DC." BLOSSOM DC will be on view until May 11.

Pricing: Free.

3. Cat Adoptions at PetMAC

Where/When: PetMac822 N Kenmore St, Arlington, VA

Why Go: Cat Adoptions SATURDAY, 12-4pm at PetMAC. VIP Rescue always has great cats (and sometimes kittens!) who are looking for their permanent homes. If you've been thinking of adding a furry feline to your family, stop by. To see more cats (and dogs!) available through VIP Rescue, visit here

4. Arlington County PLACE Open House

Where/When: Artisphere, March 15 and 17 6 p.m.   

Why Go: Arlington County Government, together with more than two dozen civic groups, will this week host the kick-off Open House of PLACE (Participation, Leadership and Civic Engagement), the County's ambitious initiative to broaden civic engagement in Arlington.

5. Rí Rá Clarendon celebrates St. Patrick’s Week; Honors 3 Great Charities

Where/When: Ri Ra Irish Pub2915 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA, All day March 17

Why Go: Willem Dicke on Stage at 11 a.m.; 19th Street Band on Stage at 4 p.m.; Dr. Fu on Stage at 10 p.m.; Supports The Reading Connection
