It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.
Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit around D.C. and Arlington and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.
Where/When: National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, 1556 Wisconsin Ave., DC; Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy a comedy not so far from real life. Watch three city moms who meet daily on a playground bench to hang on tight to the women they are.
Where/When: Arlington Cinema 'N Drafthouse, 2903 Columbia Pike, Arlington; Friday, wine tasting at 6:15 p.m., movie at 7:15 p.m.
Why Go: Unwind with a glass of wine...or two...at this weekly wine tasting. The cinema is featuring "The Social Network" on Friday night, which is perfect because you'll have all weekend to mull over how Mark Zuckerberg became the world's first 26-year-old billionaire before heading back to the daily grind on Monday morning.
Pricing: Wine is $1.50 per "taste." Movie tickets are $5.50.
Where/When: Christ Church Georgetown, 3116 O St NW, Washington
Why Go: The music of William Smith, Thomas Tallis, and Jacques Arcadelt will be featured during this free Evensong concert at Christ Church Georgetown on Sunday afternoon. The performance will be a perfect, peaceful opportunity to unwind after a hectic weekend.
Where/When: Verizon Center, 601 F St., NW, Washington. Wednesday, Feb. 16 through Monday, Feb. 21. Matinee and evening showtimes vary. Consult the Verizon Center's event calendar for more information.
Why Go: Disney princesses on ice - need we say more?
Pricing: Tickets range from $15 to $75.
Where/When: Northside Social, 3211 Wilson Blvd, Arlington. Sunday, 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Why Go: Have you been practicing your soon-to-be Top 40 hit single in the shower every morning? What about your crazy funny comedy routine? If your answer is "yes," then open mic night at Northside Social will be the perfect opportunity to test your material. If you're not so inclined to take the stage, you can sit back, relax, and watch other people perform.
