Glover Park Dog Park Nearing Completion

Guy Mason dog park should open in early December.

The dog park at Guy Mason Recreation Center in Glover Park should open in early December, a pre-holiday holiday gift for its canine patrons.

Earlier this year, users of a 6,400-square-foot, ad hoc dog park at Guy Mason Recreation Center organized as the Dogs of Guy Mason Alliance (DOGMA) to formally register the dog park next to the baseball field.

The park closed on Oct. 15 for construction activities and, according to an email from DOGMA coordinators Adriana Cordero and Amanda MacKaye, it should open in early December.

According to the email:

"The ground has been leveled, the trees and shrubs carefully marked so as not to be disturbed, and the five-tall fence is up. The infrastructure and foundation for the water fountain is in place. When all is done we will have a nice, updated dog park, with four benches, two trashcans, and two poop bag dispensers. DPR has ok'd for the use of mulch as ground cover as we had before, instead of gravel."
