Good Stuff Eatery to Replace Crepe Amour, Georgetown Wing Co.
Top Chef's Chef Spike Mendelsohn hopes to open the M Street location of his popular burger joint by December.
It's official: Good Stuff Eatery is coming to 3291 M St., replacing Crepe Amour and Georgetown Wing Co. Good Stuff, a burger restaurant by Top Chef Spike Mendelsohn, has a Capitol Hill location and will open its second location in Crystal City this spring.
"We plan on beginning construction this June and opening in December. The space is very similar to the set up in our current Capitol Hill location," said Jordyn Lazar, a spokesperon for Good Stuff. "We're excited to make the move into the Georgetown neighborhood!"
Patch first reported that Good Stuff would be coming to Georgetown last July, but since then Mendelsohn has been mum on where exactly his new home would be.
In January, Lazar told Patch the reason for all the secrecy: the location was still occupied by another business.
"Until they vacate and we begin construction, we are not disclosing the location or timeline. We hope that by doing this, we can respect the current tenant and allow them to continue operating their business without disruption or distraction" Lazar told Patch at the time.
Patch contacted Lazar after Prince of Petworth reported that Crepe Amour would be vacating its Georgetown location at the end of March.
After all, back in July Mendelsohn told the Washington Examiner that he has been watching the success of the cupcake sisters at Georgetown Cupcake. "I look to be their neighbor."
At the Crepe Amour space, he'll be pretty close.
And Mendelsohn will be keeping another Top Chef contestant company. Chef Mike Isabella plans to open his second restaurant concept, Bandolero, this spring also on the 3200 block of M Street, at 3241 M St. where Hook once stood.
