GU Extends SNAP Hours, Adds Shifts for Inauguration

Georgetown University has extended the shifts and hours of its Student Neighborhood Assistance Program for Inauguration Weekend.

Georgetown University's Student Neighborhood Assistance Program (SNAP) will keep patrols in the neighborhood later and will add coverage both Sunday and Monday nights because of the holiday and the inauguration.

SNAP usually runs Thursday through Saturday nights.

Officers will patrol the community Sunday from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. and Monday from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. There were also extended hours Friday and Saturday night.

According to a notice sent to the Georgetown community, the additional days and extended hours are meant to "help address additional activity." The additional coverage reflects, in part, extended bar hours allowed because of Inauguration Weekend.

The university also encourages the community to contact SNAP if there are issues like loud parties or other disturbances. Residents may call the 24/7 community hotline at 202-687-8413.
