Hardy Middle School was vibrant with brass and percussion, strings and winds, paintings and drawings, and more Wednesday evening. The annual visual and instrumental arts celebration featured work from students grades six through eight.

The program for the evening included a rendition of "Battle Hymn of the Republic" by the sixth grade concert band and "Jurassic Park" by the string orchesta, among other musical elements.

Mr. Chisholm directed the marching band through three songs in the gymnasium. Before wrapping up for the evening he thanked parents for allowing their children to play musical instruments, calling it a "blessing."

Chisholm told the parents and students gathered together in the gymnasium, "Music makes you a total person."
