'Hostile' Partier Arrested for Punching Georgetown Homeowner

Three partiers overstayed their welcome in East Georgetown Friday night into Saturday morning, leading to at least one arrest, according to a report shared with the Georgetown neighborhood block captains. 

Residents of a home in East Georgetown report that at about 4:15 a.m. Saturday an unknown man and a woman made a knocking noise at the front of their home and shortly thereafter the same man and another woman stood out front repeatedly ringing the doorbell. The homeowner's email said all three were dressed like they had been socializing and were intoxicated.

The residents report that they opened their door and tried to engage with the couple to have them leave the property. After some chiding, the man reportedly became angry and aggressive. 

According to the email from the homeowner:

At this point, the tone from the guy was threatening enough that my wife decided to go call 911. I was exchanging a few more words with him (I kept my cool, basically) when he suddenly reached across the threshold of our doorway and punched me pretty hard in the chest. It hurt, but it was not a devastating blow or anything -- it was a punching motion, but he used the palm of his hand to strike, not a closed fist.

The police responded and the homeowners were able to identify the three people, including the man, who was then arrested when the homeowner decided to press charges.  

The homeowner advised his neighbors not to make his mistake:

Anyway, something else to add to our safety concerns in the neighborhood: hostile partiers. The moral of the story for me is, never open your door to engage with someone ringing your doorbell at 4:15am. That should have been a no-brainer - I won't make that mistake again!
