Jack's Boathouse Loses Lease

The National Park Service notified Jack's that they have 30 days.

Jack's Boathouse has lost its lease on its Georgetown waterfront property, according to The Georgetowner. The Georgetown fixture must vacate the property by Jan. 31.

Owner Paul Simkin told The Georgetowner that the 2012 season "was the best summer we ever had in DC."

The National Park Service is in the process of evaluating uses for a non-motorized boathouse zone for the waterfront area. The NPS waterfront area spans from 34th Street to about 1,200 feet upstream of the Key Bridge.
