Jonathan Adler will open his Georgetown store at 1267 Wisconsin Ave. on July 6, according to a Facebook post from BrandLinkDC the store's D.C. communications team.
The home decor and furniture store will replace GapKids at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and N Street.
Though Patch and other outlets previously reported a possible May opening, the store will not open until July. Instead, on May 22 Adler spoke at the Corcoran Gallery of Art to promote his new store.
Adler is a potter by trade who has since developed his own design dynasty.
The Corcoran's event notice offers this description of Adler:
Iconic designer Jonathan Adler, known for impeccable craftsmanship and colorful sense of optimism, launched his first ceramic collection at Barneys New York in 1994. Since then he has nurtured an internationally recognized design brand, with eighteen stores worldwide and a wholesale business boasting over 1,000 locations.
