Meth Reportedly Found in Georgetown Dorm

A campus police report states that on Jan. 19 officers recovered drugs from a room in the LXR dorm.

Georgetown Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers found drugs in a Georgetown University dorm on Jan. 19. Student newspaper, The Hoya, reports that the narcotic substance contained methamphetamine.

The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident, according to the DPS crime log. The police arrest reports since that time have not included any in the Georgetown Police Service Area for drug possession.

It was unclear from police logs whether the substance was being produced on site or whether it was merely in the student's possession. A DPS spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.

The use and distribution of illegal drugs are issues we take very seriously and are violations of the student code of conduct. Law enforcement authorities continue to actively investigate this incident with our close cooperation.
