Newt Gingrich, candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, will give a speech entitled "Giving Young Americans The Right To Choose A Personal Social Security Account" at Georgetown University Wednesday evening.

The Georgetown University Lecture Fund and the Georgetown University College Republicans are bringing the former Speaker of the U.S. House to campus. 

The Georgetown Voice blog reports that the Georgetown Occupy group has planned a protest in response to Gingrich's speech and presence on campus.

In an email to Vox Populi, one Georgetown Occupy member wrote:

It’s important for Newt Gingrich to know that his bigoted politics in service of the 1% are rejected by the vast majority of young people in this country, and that he can’t come to a college campus and tell us why he wants to privatize our social security without expecting some sort of negative outcry.

In December, Gingrich held a fundraiser at Georgetown's own Cafe Milano. Now he's back in the neighborhood just days before the D.C. primary set for Tuesday, April 3. He will appear on the ballot and his list of delegates includes four Georgetowners. 

Tuesday, Gingrich's campaign told Politico that they would cut one third of its full-time staff and mixed up top campaign officials in part because of funding concerns. He continues his for quest for delegates.

Though, Monday night Mitt Romney handily won the D.C. Republican straw poll and D.C. has a winner-take-all system for its 16 delegates.
