Not to Be Outdone, Vegans Organize Meat-Free Week

Meat-Free Week follows DC Meat Week.

DC Vegans will host the fourth annual Meat-Free Week starting Feb. 4, following the end of DC Meat Week Feb. 3.

"Meat, meet your match," declares the DC Vegan website.

This year's Meat-Free Week will run Feb. 4 through Feb. 11.

DCVegan, The Kindness Collective and Compassion Over Killing are the driving forces behind the vegan-friendly alternative to a week that celebrates barbecue meats in the DC area.

The partcipating venue nearest to Georgetown is the Whole Foods Market Foggy Bottom, 2201 I St. NW, which will offer a vegan-friendly version of its weekly "wine-down" on Feb. 6 and a vegan cooking class Feb. 11.
