Georgetown families cheered on the home team in their football game against Yale Saturday. That Georgetown lost to Yale 21 to 24 did not keep families from enjoying the first Georgetown Community Day of the fall.

Children got in to the game free and were able to practice their kicks and pass on Harbin Field with Jack the Bulldog during half time.

Glover Park resident Jeremy Weinberg watched his son Alexi Weinberg catch a pass on the field during halftime. Alexi was torn on who to root for because his dad graduated from Yale in 1992, and his mom graduated from Georgetown in 1992.

“We celebrated for every score,” said Jeremy Weinberg.

Yale pulled ahead 24 to 21 in the third quarter, so there were no more scores to cheer for.

Georgetown will play at Princeton next Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. The game will air live on ESPNU.
