Police have left the area as of 12:55 p.m. Police determined that the package was not a danger, according to MPD Public Information Officer Tisha Gant.

Metropolitan Police Department units are investigating a suspicious package at the corner of W Place and Wisconsin Avenue in Glover Park just north of Georgetown.

According to an MPD Public Information Officer, a call came in around 11:30 a.m. for a suspicious package and as of 12:15 p.m. units were still on the scene investigating.

An MPD tweet indicated that the 3500 block of W Place is closed for the investigation.

MPD was unable to provide any additional details.
