Police: Woman Sexually Assaulted on Cherry Hill Lane in Georgetown

The incident occurred Sunday at approximately 4:10 a.m., police say

 

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit is investigating the report of a sexual assault in the 3200 block of Cherry Hill Lane, NW. Cherry Hill Lane is south of Grace Street, just east of Cecil Place.

The female victim told police that she was walking in the area at 4:10 a.m. on Sunday.

According to police news release, "an unknown male suspect approached her from behind and groped her. The suspect then fled."

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, with "dark straight shaggy hair," between approximately 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall, with a slim build and dark eyes. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and khaki shorts.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
