Rabid Raccoon Captured in Georgetown

A raccoon bit a man over the weekend in Georgetown.

DC Animal Control captured a rabid raccoon in Georgetown's East Village Monday, according to an email sent to the neighborhood block captains.

A raccoon bit a man Saturday on 29th Street between Q and R streets NW.

Residents can call 311 and ask to be connected with Animal Control if they spot a raccoon exhibiting symptoms of rabies, which include being out during the daytime and aggressive behavior. You can also call Animal Control directly at 202-576-6664.
