Retailer Babette Marks Final Lease for EastBanc's Cady's Alley

Cady's Alley will officially be full when Babette opens March 21.

Yet another retailer announced it will be joining the Georgetown scene; significant because it marks the final lease for EastBanc's Cady's Alley. The women's clothing and accessory store will be the final addition (for now) to 3307 Cady's Alley, off of M Street in Georgetown.

Babette will open it's first store in the D.C. area March 21. This is the 8th freestanding store for the San Francisco-based retailer.

Marci Connolly, vice president for real estate at EastBanc, confirmed that Babette's lease of the 2,000 s.f. space, which was once home to Design Within Reach, will officially fill Cady's Alley.

"According to the leases there will be no vacancies for the next several years," said Connolly, though there are a few tenants looking for flexibility and "options for 2012 and 2013."

EastBanc has had a string of recent lease announcements to include: , Rag & Bone, Brooks Brothers, , and CB2. The retail leases are in addition to the the company is planning to develop.

Connolly said EastBanc is "down to one vacancy" in the space adjacent to North Face. The developers are, "still looking for the best of the best," something a "little more unique" to fill the 6,000 s.f. space, which could be rented as one or two stores.
