Seasonal Ice Skating in D.C. and Beyond

Ice rinks pop up throughout the region for the holidays and winter months.

When temperatures drop, steaming cups of hot chocolate, cozy sweaters and, of course, outdoor ice skating come to mind. The D.C. area has a variety of options for ice skating, including two new rinks arriving just in time for the 2012-2013 winter season.

  • GEORGETOWN: The Georgetown waterfront's Washington Harbour complex will unveil its brand new ice skating rink just before Thanksgiving.
    • COST: $9 for adults, $7 for children, seniors and military members. Skate rental is $5.

Love it!! Thanks who ever put together the ice skating rink in Georgetown. Have 4 pre teen and teenage kids.. love to have things they can do on their own (that they can walk to!) They are at Loews movie theater all the time, and running in the fountain across the street.. and now ice skating! Hope the police have found a decent place to train on motorcycles (old use of water front park at Wisc and K) but the park by the water is awesome!! Wouldn't mind a food truck or 2 on K under Whitehurst... but that would be asking for too much!
