ShopHouse Coming to Former Furin's Space
The 'fast-casual' Asian restaurant will replace Georgetown's beloved neighborhood diner.
ShopHouse, the fast casual Southeast Asian-inspired restaurant, is moving into the former Furin's space, according to the Georgetown Metropolitan. Furin's closed in July 2011 after 27 years at 2805 M St.
ShopHouse currently has a location in Dupont Circle.
According to their Facebook page, the "menu includes distinctly spiced homemade curries and sauces, fresh vegetables and herbs, artisanal organic tofu, and meats raised responsibly without the use of antibiotics or added hormones."
When Patch recently asked what neighbors would want to see replace Furin's most commenters wanted another breakfast joint. Some were more specific than others:
"The new place should have the exact same menu as Furin's and it should be called Furin's," wrote commenter Chris.
Georgetown Metropolitan writer, Topher Matthews, took a positive view of Shophouse coming to Georgetown, he wrote:
"Having anything other than a place just like Furin’s going into Furin’s is a little heartbreaking, since it means the old diner is really and truly gone. But it could be a lot worse than Shophouse."

I Love ShopHouse in Dupont so this is great! Might compete with Noodle & Co near Safeway
