Super Bowl 2013: Predictions, Television Schedule, Preview, Betting Lines

The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers face off in Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday. Here's some information for getting the most out of the game in Georgetown.

When the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers meet in Super Bowl 47, several players will be familiar to the DC area. The game, of course, is in New Orleans, but the Super Bowl reaches everywhere, including Georgetown.

Here's all the information you'll need to get the most out of the matchup, including local players to keep an eye on, television schedules and where to watch the game close to home.

Look for Ahmad Brooks, a 49ers linebacker who attended the University of Virginia, C.D Hylton High School in Woodbridge and Hargrave Military Academy. (See Brooks’ bio here). He was born in Fairfax.

Read Patch interviews with Ahmad Brooks' sister and his high school coach.

Joining Brooks is Cam Johnson, a San Francisco rookie linebacker. He also attended the University of Virginia and went to Gonzaga College High School in Washington. (See Johnson’s bio here.)

Torrey Smith, a wide receiver for Baltimore, lived in Fredericksburg and graduated from Stafford High. (See Smith's bio here.)

Ravens fans have to be hoping not to see Tyrod Taylor, who attended Virginia Tech and went to high school at Hampton High School in Hampton. (See Taylor’s bio here.) Why are Ravens fans rooting against his appearance? He's the backup quarterback.

Predictions

ScoresandOdds.com has the Super Bowl betting line favoring San Francisco by 3.5 points. The over/under on total points is 47.5.

But what does Vegas know? Here are fearless predictions from our area:

Ben Standig, a DC area sports writer and sometimes Patch contributor, also favors San Francisco.

"The 49ers have a much better defense, the better coaching (and seemingly crazier) Harbaugh brother and have all kinds of D.C. area players on their team, notably tight end Vernon Davis (Dunbar/Maryland) and linebacker Navarro Bowman (Suitland)," Standig told Georgetown Patch.

Ben Standig, DC area sports writer: 49ers 27, Ravens 22.

Adam Shelnut, Regional Publisher, Patch: Ravens 24, 49ers 21.

Todd Richissin, Senior Regional Editor, Patch: 49ers 35, Ravens 24.

Greg Hambrick, Associate Regional Editor, Patch: Ravens 21, 49ers 20.
