Hot off the tail of Fashion's Night Out is the District Sample Sale—the Washington, DC, region's premiere high-end bargain shopping event.

This year the District Sample Sale will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in Chevy Chase—in the former Filene's Basement location at the Mazza Gallerie, in Friendship Heights (5300 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, DC).

The one-night-only sale features more than 20 "top designer clothing and shoe boutiques selling their end-of-season wares at liquidation-level prices, with many previewing their upcoming season looks at DSS-exclusive pricing," according to the event's website.

"The District Sample Sale also features cocktails, hors d'oeuvres from our participating restaurants, a fashion-focused silent auction, raffle ... and more," the website added.

All of the profits from the event—which is put on by an all-volunteer organization—will go toward this year's chosen charity and other legacy charities. The organization has donated more than $240,000 to charities since 2006, according to its website.

This year's charity is the Sitar Arts Center, which brings high-quality arts education to low-income families.

General admission tickets (good for admission to the sample sale from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11) are $40 and may be purchased at the District Sample Sale's website.
