Wine Bar Headed to Wisconsin Avenue

Slate Wine bar will soon call Glover Park home.

Slate Wine Bar and Bistro plans to open in August at 2404 Wisconsin Avenue in Glover Park.

The new neighborhood bistro will fill the space vacated by Kitchen 2404 and will bring a variety of wine options, including wine pairing and specials. Food offerings will be light, seasonal, bistro-style dishes like salads, charcuterie and cheeses, meant to pair nicely with the wine offerings.

Slate is coming to Glover Park thanks to the Wine Investment Group, LLC. The owner and Wine Director is Elizabeth Banker and the General Manager is Mark Krieger. Krieger is formerly of Chef Geoff's on New Mexico Ave., according to Eater DC.

According to Eater DC, the wine list "will feature both Old and New World wines, emphasizing small producers with sustainable farming practices, and non-interventionalist winemaking."

For the adventurous oenophile Slate will have a "wide-range of educational and entertaining wine events, including winemaker dinners, tasting seminars, wine clubs, escorted trips to wine regions, and more," according to a post on the restaurant's blog.
