Amid a spectacular rooftop setting, featuring scenic views of the historic Old Post Office Pavilion, Washington Monument and Capitol Building, more than 50 people gathered at on the Citigroup Rooftop Terrace in Northwest Washington on Wednesday night to celebrate Easter Seals Greater Washington-Baltimore Region’s Young Professionals Council (YPC).
The group, consisting of successful and entrepreneurial young professionals from Washington and throughout the national capital region, hosted the reception to support the services of Easter Seals Greater Washington-Baltimore Region and discuss future events and ways that they can become more involved in the organization’s mission.
“It was a terrific evening for our council,” said for YPC Chairman Anthony Bozzi. “We have grown immensely over the past year and are truly making a difference. I am very excited for what is to come for the YPC and for Easter Seals.”
The Young Professionals Council supports the services of Easter Seals Greater Washington-Baltimore Region. The group also aims to raise awareness of these services to a younger audience by assisting the Board of Directors, volunteering time, offering support to the organization and to individuals with disabilities and special needs through Easter Seals programs and fundraising events. Ultimately, it molds the next generation of non-profit leaders. By its very nature, YPC members are young/young-at-heart professionals in their 20s, 30s and 40s.
“It’s truly heartwarming to see the support we are now getting for the YPC,” said Easter Seals President & CEO Lisa Reeves. “These young professionals make up the generation of leaders and philanthropists that will guide our organization into the coming decades. To know that they are already taking time out of their busy lives to support people with disabilities, military, veterans and others that we help at Easter Seals makes me feel very secure about our future. They truly understand that this is not ‘their father’s Easter Seals’.”
