The Washington Humane Society (WHS) is proud to participate in Best in Shelter, the region's first virtual dog show, starting today! Real animals sponsored by four local animal groups are competing to win cash prizes. WHS has entered four adoptable dogs in the online competition, which will run from June 14-17 at www.BestinShelter.org, and we need your help to win!
The public is encouraged to vote for their favorite dog up to once per day. The dog with the most votes will earn $50,000 for his or her shelter! Dogs placing second and third will earn $25,000 and $15,000 for their shelters, respectively.
Here is a sneak peek of the adorable adoptable WHS pups in the competition:
HUGO, 5-year-old Pit Bull type mix
You may recognize our first happy-faced contestant--it's Hugo, a formerly abused pup who is ready for a new home after receiving great foster care from an incredible volunteer. Now he wants to show everyone that pit bull dogs really are the best in shelter.
EWOK, 1-year-old Miniature Schnauzer mix
I'm Ewok! I was running alone in the city when a kind Washington Humane Society Animal Care & Control Officer rescued me and brought me to the adoption center. I'm a sweet young man looking for a family to call my own.
CHARLOTTE, 1-year-old Beagle mix
If you are looking for a mild-mannered young lady look no further! I'm Charlotte, and I was left at the adoption center because my former person had a baby and didn't think she could take care of me too. I'm a sweet girl, a little shy, and am looking for a family who can give me a lifetime of love.
MARY LOU, 3-year-old Shepherd mix
Hi there, I'm Mary Lou! I came to the adoption center because my owner passed away. They call me Mary Lou because I'm a bit of a gymnast. Maybe you can teach me how to do dog agility courses?
Please help us win this week by voting once per day, and download and share our flyer and encourage your friends, families, and communities to vote Washington Humane Society too.
