“Celebrating Betty Buchanan,” a concert in tribute to its late founder and director. Betty Buchanan, a musicologist and choral director, founder of the Capitol Hill Choral Society, was a significant musical presence in Washington for nearly 30 years. Singing A—Z, her final choral group, worked in selected elementary schools to teach at-risk children the joy of music.
