DESCRIPTION:Georgetown's Summer History Weeks at Dumbarton House and its 
 historic&nbsp\;neighbor Tudor Place offer a fun approach to American his
 tory. Children help cook and sample snacks and drinks of times past\, tr
 y on period clothing\, experience the historic garden\, plant their own 
 garden\, play historic games\, paint watercolor landscapes\, go on an ar
 chaeological expedition and much more! The week ends with an early Ameri
 can "parlor party" that children host for family and friends. Snack prov
 ided. Children bring bagged lunch for the full day camps. Before and aft

 2pm Children will spend the week searching for clues to learn about earl
 y American history. The program features exciting interactive activities
  and hands-on projects. Children will have the opportunity to try on per
 iod clothing\, sample period food\, play period games\, and create a gar
 den!\nFederal Food\, Fashion\, and Fun AT Dumbarton House\, Ages 4-10 Ju
 ne 25-29 | 9am - 12pm Children will experience life as it was lived in G
 eorgetown households 200 years ago\, when our nation's capital was found
 ed. Participants will prepare historic snacks\, perform early American a
 nd African-American dances\, make music\, paint with watercolors\, try o
 n period clothing\, practice Federal manners\, play with historic games 
 and toys\, and more!\nTudor Time Travelers AT Tudor Place\, Ages 4-10 Ju
 ly 30 to August 3 | 9am - 12pm This program introduces children to the s
 pectacular natural environment and history of Tudor Place. In the histor
 ic gardens and rooms children are transported into the magical world of 
 the past. Hands on activities include scavenger hunts\, arts and crafts\
 , historic games\, dancing\, gardening\, and cooking. The week will end 
 with an early American Tea Party hosted by the campers for their familie

 Explore hidden treasures at Tudor Place! As Explorers children uncover h
 istoric objects in an archaeological dig\, create a sensational garden\,
