Support DCPS at Whole Foods, Farmer's Market and More

It's Wednesday, Sept. 18. Here are 5 things to get you over the hump.

Support Local Schools at Whole Foods Today Only: Whole Foods in Glover Park will donate 5% of all sales to four local schools, including Hyde-Addison and Stoddert Elementary. Local PTAs are encouraging residents to buy in bulk tomorrow (you know you're going to drink 10 bottles of wine this month anyway...). Additionally, during the Winesday (5:30 to 7 p.m. $5 tastings of wine and food pairings) there will be performances from Duke Ellington School of the Arts students, whose school will also benefit from the 5% donations.

Georgetown Farmer's Market Wednesday.
Stop by the Georgetown Farmer's Market, held each Wednesday in Rose Park. There you can pick up produce for dinner, enjoy a warm Belgian waffle, grab a loaf of bread and see a whole bunch of familiar faces. The market runs from 3 to 7 p.m. in Rose Park at 26th and O Streets, NW. The market season will begin winding down until the last one at the end of October, so get there soon!

A Collections Conversation - The New York Easy Chair Bring your lunch and a friend to get some history while you eat at Dumbarton House, 2715 Q Street, NW. The topic for this bi-monthly presentation is the New York Easy Chair. Scott Scholz, Deputy Director & Curator, will present his research on the newly acquired piece and its important place in the historical interpretation of Dumbarton House, according to the event notice. Stop by at 12:30 p.m. for the 30 minute presentation and 15 minutes of Q & A, as your time allows.

Serbian flutist Andjela Bratic and Serbian pianist Jasna Popovic perform at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage at 6 p.m. Free. The Kennedy Center is located at 2700 F St. NW. 202-467-4600.
