Yappy Hour on Book Hill, Reggae Night and More for Your Friday

It's Friday, Aug. 9, and here are 5 things to do/know today in Georgetown, DC and beyond.

Book Hill Yappy Hour: Shop at Sassanova (1641 Wisconsin Ave., NW), Sherman Pickey (1647 Wisconsin Ave., NW), and Urban Chic Georgetown (1626 Wisconsin Ave., NW) every Friday in August, starting at 3 p.m. in support of the Washington Humane Society (WHS). You'll get 10 percent off your purchase price and 10 percent of all proceeds will benefit WHS. There will be treats for humans and pups alike.

No Parking for Street Sweeping Friday: No Parking signs have been posted on the 3200-3400 blocks of O  and P streets, NW to allow the Department of Public Works to sweep the cobblestone streets. The effort is the last phase of the O and P Street Project. The parking limitations are in effect today.

It’s Reggae Night at Carter Barron Amphitheatre featuring bands the Archives, Image Band and Strykers Posse. The park gates open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Free.
