Jay Gruden has been hired as the Washington Redskins new head coach. Gruden will be the franchise’s 29th head coach, the eighth since Daniel Snyder bought the team in 1999.
As the Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator, Gruden and young quarterback Andy Dalton had a 30-18 record over three season. That work may make Gruden an excellent fit for Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III, who is still developing as an NFL player.
The Gruden name in football comes with some big shoes to fill. Read more about that, as well as our other top stories from area Patch sites in our daily digest.WaPo: McLean Home to Most-Expensive Real Estate Sold in 2013
