About Town: Wind Whips through Georgetown

The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning for Georgetown Saturday.

Wind gusts of upwards of 60 miles per hour whipped through the D.C. region Saturday; areas of VA and MD that closed down sections of I-95. Georgetown was luckier, experiencing the windy weather with fallen branches and whirlpools of leaves twirling on street corners.

The mild temperatures still brought out shoppers, families and, of course, the ever-dedicated line of tourists at Georgetown cupcake. Check out our slideshow of photos around town Saturday during the windy weather.
